Caroline’s Room at the University Medical
Center at Texas Tech University was
established in 2002, through the proceeds of the same fundraiser and
symposium
that helped establish the Covenant facility. Again, the fundraising
and accounting was
coordinated and managed by the Lubbock Chapter of the March of Dimes
Foundation,
and the total cost of the Covenant and Texas Tech rooms was $30,000.
The Texas Tech
room is the smallest of the Caroline’s Rooms, but because it is
located inside the NICU,
it is in great demand. Though limited in space, the interior designer
made the most of the
area with a loveseat, chair, and an end table with pull-out seating.
Artwork, wallpaper, and
customized, coordinated, and commercially available furniture were used.
