St.Vincent Women’s Hospital is the largest comprehensive women’s health service facility in
Indiana. It is Central Indiana's only dedicated women's hospital, providing a full continuum of
care. The hospital encompasses 48 private rooms, a 26-bed High-Risk Obstetrics Unit, a 24/7
staffed Level III C 75-bed Newborn Intensive Care Unit and the largest group of Maternal Fetal
Medicine physicians in Indiana.
Newborn Intensive Care at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital
As stated on the St. Vincent Women’s Hospital website, “often times, the tiniest miracles need
the most care after delivery.” St. Vincent offers the only Level IIIC Newborn Intensive Care
Unit (the highest level of care available) and Level III obstetric care in Indiana. The hospital
works in partnership w ith Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at St.Vincent, as well as with a
variety of pediatric subspecialists to deliv
er a comprehensive continuum of care for expectant
mothers, new moms and newborns. St.Vincent provides one of the largest Newborn Intensive
Care Units (NICU) in the state and features:
- A team of more than 25 neonatologists, working together with nurse practitioners,
physician assistants, and skilled Newborn Intensive Care nurses, who provide around the
clock care – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
- Specially designed, family-centered patient care that supports the growth and
development of newborns.
- Comprehensive neonatal services, including open-heart procedures, staffed by a full
complement of pediatric subspecialists.
- State-of-the-art neonatal surgery suite at St.Vincent Women’s Hospital
- Continuing Care Nursery for babies who require close observation and monitoring but
not intensive care support.
- Strong lactation support program encouraging breastfeeding and supplemented by the
Indiana Mother’s Milk Bank.
