Caroline’s Room in Odessa Regional Hospital in Odessa, Texas,
was established in 2003. It is the only Caroline’s Room that is
not located inside the NICU; it is just down the hall from the Unit.
Though well used, it would be even more so if it had been possible to
place the room within the NICU. This room includes plenty of comfortable
seating, wallpaper, artwork, and a resource center.
The Lubbock Chapter of the March of Dimes Foundation
took the lead in coordinating
the design and furnishing of this room. The Foundation also managed
all of the accounting
for the Odessa Caroline’s Room and was instrumental in getting
the regional Ronald
McDonald Charities to directly fund the cost of the room with a donation
of $10,000.
